Princess Eugenie’s Role Revealed In Secret Meeting Between Queen Elizabeth And Harry, Meghan

Princess Eugenie reportedly played a significant role in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's surprise visit to Windsor Castle Thursday to meet Queen Elizabeth.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stopped by in the United Kingdom as they made a trip to the Netherlands to attend the Invictus Games. They are said to have arrived on an overnight British Airways flight from Los Angeles. The pair spent the Wednesday night at Frogmore before meeting Queen Elizabeth at her Windsor residence on Thursday. Harry also held a meeting with his father, Prince Charles. The 37-year-old royal's sudden visit to his grandmother appeared to be an olive branch between the two sides of the House of Windsor.

Meanwhile, according to Daily Mail's Richard Kay, Eugenie had a big role in setting up the Sussexes' trip to Windsor. "It was also the first time Meghan had seen any of her royal in-laws since March 2020. Intriguingly it involved a fifth member of the Royal Family who was not present at either meeting – Princess Eugenie."

"The princess who is temporarily living in her cousin's Frogmore Cottage with her husband Jack Brooksbank and their son August, is thought to have played an 'encouraging' role behind the scenes," Kay wrote. "She is Harry's closest royal ally – she and Jack visited the Sussexes in California earlier this year – and is also close to the Queen."

Eugenie is known to have a very close relationship with Harry and Meghan. She is said to be the only royal who had the chance to visit their daughter, Lilibet when she went to the United States earlier this year. Harry and Eugenie were also spotted watching the Super Bowl together. The royal cousins are also known to hit the London club together and they were regulars at the famous London club, Mahiki, sneaking in from the back entrance.

Since they were children, Harry and Eugenie have been close; their mothers, Princess Diana and Sarah Ferguson were good friends. Both families would often spend the holidays together, and they were also seen sharing talks at engagements. Eugenie and her family now reside at Meghan and Harry's Windsor home Frogmore Cottage.
