A sudden change of plans is indicated in Prince Harry’s travel, barely days after he landed in UK to attend his grandfather’s funeral. While it was initially reported that Harry couldn’t wait to head home to his pregnant wife Meghan Markle and son Archie, it has now been speculated that the Duke of Sussex might stay back for a little longer just to be around for Queen Elizabeth’s 95th birthday. The Queen’s birthday falls on Wednesday, which barely makes it a challenge for Harry to stick around for longer.

Things have panned out for the better after Harry engaged in peace talks with William that lasted for about two hours during Prince Philip’s funeral believe sources close to the royal family. The return has proven beneficial, at least as far as Harry mending ties with his older brother is concerned. It has been reported that the Dukes met their father Prince Charles after the procession.

Speculations about Harry’s extended stay were fueled by reports of him having booked an open flight back to the United States. Meghan, who was advised against traveling to the UK owing to her being in the final stages of pregnancy, watched the funeral live on TV and reportedly sent a hand-written note to leave with a wreath at the funeral.

Harry and William, albeit having exchanged warm words, did not walk beside each other at the procession, as the royals walked in pairs during services. Peter Philip, the eldest grandson, was flanked by both the Dukes on either side during the procession. Arrangements were made as such that the Dukes were seated far apart, as cited in the Daily Mail.

A possible reconciliation, as evidenced by the long chat, was reportedly initiated by the family “peacemaker” Kate Middleton, as William fondly calls her. After the low-key funeral procession concluded, a volley of royals was spotted waiting back to the Windsor Castle as opposed to traveling in the cars that were lined up for them outside St. George's Chapel. Kate thought of this as an opportune moment to allow the Dukes to walk together, egging them on to speak amicably on their way back.
