Prince William Reportedly Parts Ways With Friend Tom Bradby For Siding With Harry, Meghan

Prince William and Tom Bradby being thick friends is now a thing of the past. Given how the past couple of weeks intensified tensions between the Dukes – with Harry and Meghan’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey being pegged as the last straw– it is now believed that William no longer trusts the high-profile show host.

“The friendship between William and Tom is very much over. The Duke feels let down by Bradby and the way he's acted over the past few months,” said a royal insider, as cited on Daily Mail. “William is a sensitive soul and believes it's in times of crisis when you find out who your true friends are. It would be fair to say Bradby hasn't been one of them,” he added.

While it’s certain that Bradby has landed in the bad books of William, what’s actually triggered the Duke of Cambridge is the journalist’s alleged lop-sided handling of the wars of the Windsors. William is reportedly livid at how Bradby has quite become the mouthpiece for Meghan and Harry. Add to it, Bradby’s newfound proximity with the Sussexes makes it extremely hard for William to place his trust in the man again.

It was on Bradby’s show that Meghan had become vocal about her struggles after marrying into the royal family. “Not many people have asked if I'm okay. It's a very real thing to go through behind the scenes…it has really been a struggle,” said Meghan on Bradby’s "Harry & Meghan: An African Journey."

The ITV documentary was filmed in South Africa in 2019. Meghan took a visible dig at Harry’s family. It was during this documentary that Harry had publicly opened up about the issues he had with his older brother, and confirmed that they were ‘on different paths at the moment’.

A volley of royal members are miffed at the 54-year-old’s style of reporting, which they feel has become visibly ‘pro-Harry and Meghan’. “It's well-known Bradby personally communicates with Harry on a regular basis and that is pretty obvious to royal aides who know how things work,” said a royal insider, adding, “But it's been very difficult to accept given the long history between Bradby and William.”

Many believe that Bradby’s new-found rapport with the Sussexes is working in his favor. “Tom Bradby has a certain caché at ITV as their newsman. He is also the man with the golden goose in the bosses' eyes as he has a hotline to Prince Harry,” said the source.

The Kensington Palace refused to comment on the speculation, and so did a spokeswoman for ITV News who maintained that the team wasn’t in a position to address the issue.
