At the London’s Air Ambulance Charity Gala, Prince William looked dapper in his black tuxedo and a bowtie. The service celebrated its 30th anniversary, which even Prince William was a part of from July 2015 to January 2017. He worked as a pilot for East Anglian Air Ambulance.
The Duke of Cambridge appeared animated and happy, laughing and joking around with the crew. He even teased the team on how clean and bright their orange uniforms looked. He was also seen speaking to Captain Andy Thompson and Yasir Shahar.
In 2016, Shahar met with a severe accident while riding his bike. He had suffered from a crushed pelvis and severe internal bleeding. However, the air ambulance crew saved his life by flying him to the hospital immediately. His wife, Yael, also said that the charity was doing a great job.
The famous musician, Eric Clapton, was also an attendee. According to the DailyMail, while speaking to the rock legend, Prince William shared that he tries to spend all his free time with his children and that it left him with very little time to pursue any hobby.
He said that it was getting more and more challenging to spend quality time with his family. So, any free time he gets, he makes sure to spend it with his three children.
During the charity gala, the Duke of Cambridge also gave a speech. He spoke about how the air ambulance service was working hard towards saving lives. The charity gala was to raise funds for new facilities and the generosity of the people has already led to 2,564,300.00 USD.
The air ambulance has treated a number of patients and also been there during major accidents, such as 7/7, Croydon tram crash, and more.
Prince William also seemed proud of his children. During his speech, he said that his children would “empty their piggy bank” to help someone in need.
