Fans from world over can’t really get enough of the “Fab Four” as rumors of an ongoing royal feud are truly heartbreaking. Needless to say, the internet is shocked over a video that surfaced showing Prince William’s evident animosity toward Meghan Markle at the Christmas church service at St. Mary Magdalene last year.
Throwing in a bit of context, the visible animosity came to light when a video highlighted how the Duke of Cambridge ignored Meghan on their way to their cars after the service. This was Meghan’s first Christmas after her marriage to Prince Harry.
In the video, Meghan seems to try to say something to William, but the latter seems a tad too preoccupied adjusting his outfit and fixing his scarf. Reports point out that William was clearly not paying heed to Meghan in the footage. Whether it was a genuine case of being engrossed or just a deliberate snub on William’s part is not certain.
Body language experts decipher that there could be more than what meets the eye. “This sense of distancing could be caused by tensions but it could also primarily be prompted by William’s aversion to royal ‘soap operas,’” Judi James said in the report.
“After the tragic dramas of his parent’s marriage William has always appeared keen to avoid any public emotional displays that might draw too much ongoing attention from the press and it could easily be this, rather than Meghan herself, that he’s keen to avoid,” she added.
Looking at the whole incident from a different perspective, things might have not really added up to what it appears to be. For instance, Meghan may not have just looked at William and not have said anything to him.
“On the surface, it looked as though she turned around to smile at William while he kept himself busy tucking his scarf into his coat and her face did appear to have dropped as she turned back,” James said. “But she could have been smiling at Kate rather than William, meaning he might genuinely have been out of the conversational loop at that particular point.”
Needless to say, one thing is certain — the tension seemed to pique at Sandringham. A year later, things do not seem to get any better as frequent reports surface of a royal feud among the Fab Four.
In July, the Cambridges and the Sussexes decided to go different ways. Kensington Palace ran an official announcement, which stated that their joint charity had officially split.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex continued to run the Royal Foundation together. But Prince Harry and wife Meghan severed ties with the foundation in pursuit of their own charitable interests.
