Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, are reportedly in a rush to revise and edit his upcoming memoir to downplay or get rid of the parts about King Charles and the Queen Consort Camilla that might put them in a bad light.
Sources close to the Prince also claimed that he and Meghan are re-editing their planned docuseries, which Netflix executives hoped to release this year alongside the fifth season of “The Crown,” in order to downplay any comments made against Charles, his brother Prince William, and William’s wife Kate, according to .
“A lot of conversations are happening. I hear that Harry and Meghan want the series to be held until next year, they want to stall,” an industry insider said. “I wonder if the show could even be dead in the water at this point, do Harry and Meghan just want to shelve this thing?”
Kinsey Schofield, a royal commentator, also speculated that the Sussexes will likely make a “U-turn” on the content that they have on the Prince’s memoir if the couple want a way to return to becoming working royals in the future, Express reported.
“There is no question about that. They have got to do a U-turn. They can't just do one public appearance and everything is fine again,” he said. “Things like this book would be a disaster for them. These are things they have to consider if they want a way back in.”
While Harry appears to be attempting to soften his media project in light of his father’s ascension to the throne, Charles and his team are reportedly looking into ways to stop the memoir from releasing, with rumors that he is delaying giving royal titles to Harry and Meghan’s children until their various media projects have been released, Cosmopolitan reported.
“The question inside the Palace is: ‘Can the book be stopped?’ It may be that even Harry can’t stop it at this stage but the feeling at the very top is that there’s no good that can come of airing grievances in public,” a person close to Charles said.
