Prince Harry is pinning the blame for the miscarriage of Meghan Markle on media.
It was in 2020 when Markle suffered the unfortunate miscarriage and now the Duke of Sussex feels that the Daily Mail is the one to blame.
The Duchess of Sussex suffered the miscarriage on the morning that they woke up in their Santa Barbara home in July 2020. This came not long after the couple had quit the Royal Family earlier that same year.
“I believe my wife suffered a miscarriage because of what the [Daily] Mail did,” Prince Harry said in their Netflix docuseries, “Harry & Meghan.” “I watched the whole thing.”
It was in 2019 when the couple launched a case against the couple after the Daily Mail had published a private letter that Markle had penned to her father.
“Now, do we absolutely know that the miscarriage was caused, created by that?” Harry said, “Of course we don’t, but bearing in mind the stress that that caused, the lack of sleep and the timing of the pregnancy, how many weeks in she was, I can say from what I saw, that miscarriage was caused by what they were trying to do to her.”
According to the legal representative of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Jenny Afia, the case took its toll on the 41-year-old.
“Meghan and I would be texting at 1 a.m. or 3 a.m. her time, she’d be awake, unable to sleep, thinking about this case, and the wider issues and the toll it was taking,” she said.
It was further added by Abigail Spencer that the couple fought off tears when she visited the couple at their Santa Barbara home. She immediately senses that something was off.
“She was holding Archie and she just fell to the ground,” Spencer said.
It was on November 2020 when Markle went public about her miscarriage, penning it in an essay for the New York Times.
“I dropped to the floor with him in my arms, humming a lullaby to keep us both calm, the cheerful tune a stark contrast to my sense that something was not right,” she wrote. “I knew, as I clutched my firstborn child, that I was losing my second.”
