Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s next big move is reportedly causing tension among palace staff. After leaving Kensington Palace, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are now planning on moving their staff to six large rooms at Buckingham Palace.

A source recently told The Sun that the Palace’s staff is not pleased with the possible move because there’s no reason for them to transfer to Buckingham Palace. Kensington Palace has more than enough office spaces for the royal couple’s team.

“There are a lot of people trying to cause trouble for the Duke and Duchess as a result of this move,” the source said. “But the facts are they were offered these rooms by the master of the household because they are currently unoccupied and used as meeting rooms,” the source added.

When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at Buckingham Palace, the six rooms will be reserved for them. But the permanent space will be shared by the staff.

“There is not going to be work done on the offices and there is no budget for any new furniture or anything like that. It’s simply a case of taking out the current furniture and installing new desks,” the source said.

Prince Harry and Meghan’s move to Buckingham Palace is believed to be permanent, especially after they split from Prince William and Kate Middleton. Prior to their separation, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s office were also located at Kensington Palace.

But even though the royal couple will be working from Buckingham Palace, there are reports suggesting that they want their household to be entirely independent of the Palace. However, Queen Elizabeth II reportedly said no to their request.

“There is an institutional structure that doesn’t allow that kind of independence,” another source said. “The feeling is that it’s good to have the Sussexes under the jurisdiction of Buckingham Palace, so they just can’t go off and do their own thing,” the source added.

Prince Harry and Meghan also created their own social media account after their split from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. They will no longer be involved in the Royal Foundation as well.
