Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are not meeting with the Royal Family, despite the couple living a short distance from Prince William and Kate Middleton. Royal insiders said that despite living just a short walk from Frogmore Cottage, the property in which the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be staying for their trip, William has made no plans to visit his brother
Harry and Meghan arrived in the United Kingdom on Saturday for a scheduled short trip which comes after Meghan’s controversial interviews with New York Magazine’s The Cut. Harry’s biographer, Angela Levin told The Sun that the two brothers have had some trust issues lately over Harry and Meghan’s controversial interviews. Levin said that William is worried that any conversations between him and Harry may be used against him. She added that the two have lost their chances to earn each other’s trust, “as the chance is they will use any conversation”.
Levin added that the trust issues make it unlikely that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will want to visit Harry and Meghan, until Harry’s memoirs have been published, and its controversies laid out. The book will be out later this year which will coincide with the release of their documentary. The author remarked that William and Kate would likely avoid any contact with the Sussexes until their Netflix documentary is released and the contents of Harry’s memoirs are known.
Fears have run up to a point where Royal Family followers believe Harry will be shifting his ire on his stepmother, Camilla.
Meghan gave a speech on Monday regarding gender equality at the opening ceremony of the One Young World summit. Levin tweeted that Meghan is not the right person to counsel the youth, remarking, “I don’t think society needs a load of self-obsessed callous individuals.”
Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles, as well as other members of the Royal Family, have also made no plans to meet Harry and Meghan. The Prince of Wales attended a church service near Balmoral on Saturday, and notably is too busy with prior work commitments to see the visiting couple.
