Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wax figures reunited with Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Camilla, Prince William and Kate Middleton on Wednesday at Madame Tussauds in London.
The figures of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were known to be separated from their family at Madame Tussauds in London in January 2020 after they decided to withdraw from their senior working royal duties.
Ahead of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, Meghan and Harry have temporarily re-joined the rest of the Royal Family members. "With Harry and Meghan returning to the UK to celebrate Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee it felt only right that our figures come together once more on our Royal Throne Room set to join in the family festivities," Tim Waters, Madame Tussauds London general manager, said in a statement. Their figures will reportedly remain next to the other royal waxworks until the end of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
"We have a long history with The Royal Family, with British monarchs doing us the honour of sitting for our artists since 1809. We’re so proud this has continued into the 20th century and we continue celebrating major milestones for Her Majesty The Queen," the statement continued.
Figures of Harry and Meghan, as well as Charles, Camilla and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have also undergone a makeover to mark the upcoming historical occasion. The whole British Royal Family wax figures are believed to receive a black-tie refashioning for the event.
Meghan now wears the red, caped Safiyaa gown worn on one of her last Royal engagements at the Mountbatten Festival of Music at Royal Albert Hall in London while Kate currently sports a Jenny Packham gown that she has worn to two different occasions. The Duchess of Cornwall is now dressed in a powder blue ball gown. Meanwhile, the men all wear tuxedos.
The Queen's figure is the 23rd of 24 the 24 waxworks created by Madame Tussauds London during her seven-decade reign. Queen Elizabeth looks stunning in the white and silver lace dress she wore in the official Diamond Jubilee portrait photograph in 2012.
The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee will mark her 70-year reign of service to the people, the event schedule will start on June 2. Harry and Meghan announced their attendance in the Platinum Jubilee together with their children, Archie, three, and Lilibet, who turns one over the Platinum Jubilee weekend.
