Another icon gone too soon this 2016; According to TMZ, who broke the news first, Prince was found dead in his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota early Thursday morning. The music world and fans around the world are shaken with the unexpected and heartbreaking news regarding the musician’s death. Many sources close to the singer, including his publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, told AP the music icon was found dead at his home Thursday in Chanhassen, confirming the sad news.
TMZ reports that Prince was battling the flu and died at 57 years old.
Prince, who was born Prince Rogers Nelson, recently had a mishap with his private jet after making an emergency landing in Illinois, Chicago on April 15. Despite this incident, the iconic "Purple Rain" singer appeared at a concert the next day.
In a PBS interview, Prince told Tavis Smiley that he was "born epileptic" and "used to have seizures" when he was young. During the interview, he also said: "My mother told me one day I walked in to her and said, 'Mom, I'm not going to be sick anymore,' and she said, 'Why?' and I said, 'Because an angel told me so'."
Celebrities whom the legendary singer-songwriter greatly inspired were absolutely shocked, just like the rest of the world, and paid tribute to the icon on social media. May he R.I.P.
I am deeply saddened by the loss of the great one. Prince took music to the future only he could hear. May he rest in the funkiest peace.

Prince and Bowie were both people who never should have died, who seemed immune from the possibility of not being here.
