Ditching her earlier pro-democrat stance, Ivanka Trump has embraced her father’s Republican views, something which was enforced by her recent tweet, wherein she called out those who refused to celebrate President Trump’s America, adding that it was “unforgivable.” According to Ivanka, the impeachment trial Trump recently went through was “ill-conceived.”

Ivanka Trump used to be a through and through supporter of the Democrats, but not anymore

She used to donate to Democratic politicians and even supported gay rights. But after she took the stage for the first time at the Conservative Political Action Conference recently, she officially became a Republican amidst the hard-core conservative activists.

She has also clarified that her decision to officially change her voter registration from Democrat to Republican to ensure that she could vote for her father in the New York primary. She had been unable to support him back in 2016 as she had missed the deadline to register as a Republican.

“I am a proud Trump Republican,” Ms. Trump said in the recently held interview. “I believe he’s broadened the reach of the Republican Party, which is really important to me.”

There was a time when Ivanka was seen as a bridge of sorts connecting Democrats and Republicans

Ivanka Trump has always maintained a separate image than the one the rest of the Trump family is stuck in. The fact that she achieved feats like lobbying her father to keep the United States in the Paris climate accords, ensured that the Obama-era L.G.B.T. protections remained in place by scrapping a proposed executive order that would have scrapped the law. She even became a prominent senior adviser to Mr. Trump in order to focus on the issues women face in the workplace- these acts made the Democrats hopeful.

While it was about time that Ivanka, who spends so much time and efforts on Trump’s administration, switched to being a Republican, many Democratic elites were hoping that she would serve to be a connection between them and the moderates, lending a helping hand in issues both sides tend to clash on. Her progressive views, whether it was gay rights, climate change, or parental leave made her a worthy candidate to achieve the impossible.

But since Donald Trump has engaged in his re-election campaign, Ivanka Trump has ditched her diverse views and ensured that in the current political wave she will stand by her father.
