The sizzling summer is upon us and that can only mean one thing... Premios Juventud 2014 on Univision! The awards show where viewers get to decide who the winners are is gearing up for a smashing event and has released the first wave of confirmed performers. Straight-up from the World Cup, Pitbull will offer a musical number that will mostly likely get everyone on their feet. Mr. Worldwide will be honored during the massive show with the "Idolo de la Juventud" ("Youth Idol") that recognizes celebrities who have achieved extraordinary success in their careers while staying deeply committed to their community. Other scheduled performers are Romeo Santos and Prince Royce who are the two most nominated artists of the night. Carlos Vives, J. Balvin, Farruko, Chino y Nacho, Luis Coronel, Becky G, Espinoza Paz and Camila will also take on the stage and party it up.
For the third consecutive year, bachata idols Romeo Santos and Prince Royce top the “PremiosJuventud” list with 12 and 11 nominations each, respectively, in Music categories such as “Catchiest Tune,” “Red Hot Artist,” “Heart-Wrenching Song,” “My Ringtone,” “Just Play It All,” and “My Tropical Artist,” among others. Following the success of two new categories that debuted last year, “Favorite Hitmaker” and “Favorite Hit,” created to allow Latino youth to honor their favorite English-language music, several non-Hispanic music stars also made it to the nominations list in 2014, including Austin Mahone, Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams and Rihanna.
In the various entertainment categories under Novelas and Movies, Hispanic fans voted for their favorite actors from both Spanish-language television and the Hollywood film industry. Five beautiful telenovelastars are in the running for the "Girl of My Dreams" award: Ana Brenda Contreras, Angelique Boyer, Ariadne Díaz, Maite Perroni and Ximena Navarrete. Nominated in the corresponding male category, "He's So Hot!" are heartthrobs Daniel Arenas, Jaime Camil, José Ron, Sebastián Rulli and William Levy. In the Movies section, some of Hollywood’s best known Hispanic stars earned nods for their acting talent, including Antonio Banderas, Benicio del Toro, Diego Luna, Michelle Rodriguez, Salma Hayek, Sofia Vegara and Zoe Saldana.
