No one will refute the performance of the Porsche Panamera. In Turbo S guise, the Panamera boasts a twin-turbocharged 4.8 liter V8 engine producing 550-hp and 590 lb.-ft. of torque, enough to catapult the car from 0-to-60mph in a breathtaking 3.6 seconds.

Unfortunately, despite its epic performance, the Panamera's awkward design proportions, especially its tumorous hind quarters, leave much to be desired. Now, Porsche believes it has finally introduced the Panamera the world deserves: the new Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Concept shooting brake.

Slated for an official public debut at the upcoming 2012 Paris Motor Show, the latest concept reveals not only new wagon proportions, but also a number of styling cues and technical updates that hint towards future changes across the entire Panamera range.

Visible changes in the new Sport Turismo Concept include infuences from other Porsche models including the latest '991' 911 flagship and the upcoming 918 Spyder hybrid supercar. While the lines of the new Panamera remain relatively undisturbed, there is hardly any body panel that has not been completely redesigned. From the front end, the new Panamera concept features new grill openings, sharper creases on the hood to distinguish a more aggressive power-dome, and finally a 918 supercar inspired headlight to anchor the makeover.

Origining from the vents on the front fenders, character lines gracefully run across the length of the body, adding attractive surface changes that reduces visual bulk. Finally, the new Panamera Sport Turismo Concept features 991 inspired taillights that run along the width of the car as well as a mirroring air diffuser below and a set of quad exhausts that make bold statements regarding the new Panamera's performance.

Inside, the Panamera Sport Turismo's interior is heavily influenced by the layout found in the 918 Spyder. The sleeker cabin design makes the driver's seat look like a wonderful place to be and the tech-oriented design with an all-digital center console shoud prove to challenge the sophistication of even the Audi R8 e-tron.

However, of all the new updates available in the latest Panamera concept, it is the e-hybrid badge that draws attention most. Based on Porsche's images, the new e-hybrid will feature plug-in hybrid technology combined with high-end performance hardware including racing center-lock wheels.

Information on the latest Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Concept remain limited for now. Be sure to check out new updates on Porsche's latest vehicle as we draw closer to its release at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
