The mighty Porsche 911 Turbo is all 195 mph and no nonsense. In fact, maybe the 520 horsepower Turbo is too serious for its own good. Now, rumors suggest that Porsche will unveil a wild variant that will turn the 911 Turbo into a real party animal. According to Jalopnik, an all-new Porsche 911 Turbo Targa is expected to debut next week in the Geneva Motor Show.
The Porsche 911 Targa only unveiled last month and it’s easily the chic and avant garde choice of the 911 range. A Turbo Targa will not only inject 520 horsepower (or 620 horsepower in Turbo S trim), but it will also add a significant dose of aggression to the 911 Targa’s gentle demeanor.
As the name Porsche 911 Turbo Targa suggests, the new model combines the svelte Targa mechanical top with the wider 911 Turbo stance. Essentially, Porsche has created the best of both worlds. Porsche are masters at forming new trims out of thin air. Towards the final years of the Porsche 911 ‘997,’ there were more or less 15 available variants on sale at the same time. It will be interesting to see what other variants are in store for the Porsche 911 ‘991’ generation. Stay tuned as we learn more about the Porsche 911 Turbo Targa ahead of the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
