Finally, the Pokémon series and movies are coming to Netflix! Thanks to Hulu for licensing a different set of shows, Netflix was able to jump in and grab exclusive subscription video on-demand rights for the worldwide Japanese monster franchise. This in turns means Pokémon content is exclusive to the popular video streaming service and will be available for fans starting Saturday, Mar. 1.
According to Variety, the deal between Netflix and the Pokémon Co. Int. says the streaming service has exclusive rights to “Pokémon: Black & White,” the 14th season of the animated series comprising 48 episodes, which will be available in all Netflix territories. In addition, the first season of the “Pokémon: Indigo League” series will be available in the U.S., Canada, the U.K. and Ireland. In addition Netflix will make available in all territories two movies: “Pokémon the Movie: Black – Victini and Rashiram” and “Pokémon the Movie: White – Victini and Zekrom.”
So Pokémon fans be prepared to binge watch your weekend away with all these exclusives from Netflix. Pokémon is a widely successful franchise worldwide with more than 245 million videogames and 20 billion Pokémon trading cards that have been sold. The Pokémon Co. Int., has more than 700 animation episodes and 16-full length animated films in its library and Netflix has gained access for the Pokémon fans!
