On Sunday Oct. 13 at 1:00 p.m. ES, the 0-4 Pittsburgh Steelers will head to MetLife stadium to take on the surging New York Jets in Week 6 of the NFL Season. The Jets are 3-2 after handing the Atlanta Falcons an unexpected loss last week, and after being more or less written off in the offseason, Coach Rex Ryan's team will try to strengthen their bona fides as a serious playoff contender as they head into a stretch of games that include formidable opponents like the Patriots (4-1), the Bengals (3-2) and the Saints (5-0). The Steelers have looked pretty awful thus far this season. Their once-vaunted defense is last in the NFL in sacks and has yet to force a turnover in their first four games (they're coming to New York after a bye week). Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor told the Associated Press that he's still confident his team can turn it around and said it's too early to write the season off as a lost one. Pittsburgh fans have more to worry about than their team's poor defense, though - their offensive line has been hit hard by injuries to Pro-Bowl center Maurkice Pouncey (who's out for the year with a knee injury) and left tackle Mike Adams. Consequentially, their run game ranks last in the NFL.

The heavily favored Jets have a 2nd-ranked run defense, but they'll face more of a threat from Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who leads a 9th-ranked passing attack which averages over 283 yards a game. He's got some consistently good targets to hit in wide receivers Emmanuel Sanders (20 catches), Jerricho Cotchery (15 catches) Antonio Brown (32 catches) and tight end Heath Miller. It's the matchup between brown and Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie which will be an especially important one: Roethlisberger has a 76.2 percent completion percentage when he throws to Brown this year, and the wideout is among the best in the NFL after he gets the ball in his hands, with 139 yards after the catch logged.

The Jets, for their part, say they won't take a win over the Steelers for granted. "We understand who we are playing. We are playing the Pittsburgh Steelers," Jets right tackle Austin Howard told ESPN earlier this week. "Very good team, whatever their record is. We know they can come out and beat any team at any given time, any given week." Planning on catching the game on TV? Tune in to the NFL Network at 1 p.m. EST on Sunday, Oct. 13.
