'Once Upon A Time' Season 4 Spoilers: Top 5 Big Reveals From Episode 17 'Best Laid Plans'

"Once Upon a Time" continues to churn out the mysteries in episode 16, "Best Laid Plans." Although we seen Ursula (Merrin Dungey) find her happy ending in last weeks episode "Poor Unfortunate Soul" that didn't stop the remaining Queens of Darkness and Gold (Robert Carlyle) from searching for the Author (Patrick Fischler) and changing their fates. As the villains got closer to their goal, viewers discovered some of the heroes were just as bad as the villains. Check out these top five big reveals from last nights episode "Best Laid Plans."

1. Malificent's baby is alive! Perhaps the biggest reveal of them all is the truth about the dragons baby. In exchange for getting the illustration to Gold, Malificent (Kristin Bauer van Straten) was to get some information regarding her baby's fate. Although she was unable to deliver she was still given the info she desperately wanted and found out that her baby is alive.

2. We know Malificent's baby - Even bigger than the fact that the child is alive is the fact that we know who she is. Gold revealed to Mal that her baby was sent to the real world by the Sorcerer's Apprentice (Timothy Webber) and revealed the identity of the baby, who turned out to be Lily, Emma's (Jennifer Morrison) childhood best best friend.

3. The Author was released - At the end of the episode we see Emma free the Author from the illustration only to have him run off and disappear.

4. The Author may not be such a good guy - After attacking the Charmings and Emma and running off we got the impression that he may not be such a good guy. But we also learned why he was imprisoned in the illustration. The Author is a job held by many and the last author didn't just record, but changed individuals storylines as a form of entertainment which is considered a no-no.

5. Regina's been found out - Regina (Lana Parrilla) has been playing a dangerous game as double agent. She was walking a fine line between good guy and villain but in "Best Laid Plans" she has been discovered. When she was unable to get the real illustration from Henry (Jared Gilmore) Gold realized she was playing both sides and put her down for a while. We don't know the Dark One's plans for her but he did say she would do his bidding.
