The midseason premiere for “Once Upon A Time” is almost upon us! Less than a week away fans can enjoy the magical world of Storybrooke and now the enchanted forest! The midseason premiere, episode 12 titled, “New York City Serenade,” is said to be one to remember. As you may remember from the midseason finale, a year has passed since Regina broke the curse and Storybrooke disappeared. Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and Henry (Jared Gilmore) now live happily in New York City, Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) shows up to ruin their easy life. But what happens next?
Well the official description for the upcoming episode reads: “When Regina obliterated her original curse, which erased Storybrooke from existence, and whisked its residents back to the Enchanted Forest — it left Emma and Henry back into the world with no memories of Storybrooke. But all is not well in the Enchanted Forest, the characters have discovered something has changed that now places their lives in danger,sending Hook to Emma's New York home in an attempt to jog her memory so that she can once again help her family and friends.”
The first half of Season 3 found success by bringing the focus back to the core cast (Emma, Prince Charming, Snow, Regina, Henry and Rumple), and "New York City Serenade" kept with that trend, putting the emphasis on emotions, even in the midst of a fair amount of plot reports Wetpaint who has seen the episode in advance. With the midseason premiere less than a week away we thought we would share a few spoilers or things to know before the episodes premieres Sunday, Mar. 9 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
1. OUAT showrunner Edward Kitsis has said the show is going "a little darker and freakier" on "Once Upon A Time" Season 3.
2. An important location from Season 2 is revisited.
3. Christopher Gorham of "Covert Affairs" is joining "Once Upon A Time" Season 3 although his role is unknown yet.
4. Robin Hood is coming back to OUAT. Also Rapunzel will be introduced.
5. “New York City Serenade” will see the home life for the Swans including video games, eggs and plaid pants.
6. According to Wetpaint, who has seen the episode in advance, in the first 15 minutes of the episode, a couple things happen including: A picnic, note-passing, purple smoke, mention of Pompeii, and two offers that Emma doesn't really know how to refuse.
7. It has been revealed that Sunny Mabrey has been cast as Glinda, the Good Witch.
8. Rose McGowan is set to return as the evil Cora.
9. Jennifer Morrison describes The Wicked With of the West as, "possibly the most terrifying villain we've ever had because her desires and intentions are very unclear.” “The Devil Wears Prada” star Rebecca Mader will play The Wicked Witch of the West.
