A man in Oklahoma fatally shot his two daughters on Tuesday afternoon while on the phone with his wife. Authorities said David Kaser, 56, was found dead along with his daughters as he had apparently turned the gun on himself.

According to a news release from police Capt. Todd Enzbrenner, officers went to the home in the 3900 block of South Walnut Creek Drive just before 1 p.m. after Kaser’s wife called the police while she was at work about 20 minutes away.

Kaser had called his wife at work while threatening to kill their daughters and then himself. His wife said he fired a shot as he shouted on the phone:

“How do you like that?”

It was at that point when Kaser’s wife called the police and asked them to do a welfare check on their home revealing that the couple had been having marital problems the last couple of months. She also told police that her husband kept guns in the house and had made previous threats but nothing as serious. Officers were called to the family’s home once in 2017 regarding domestic issues, but no arrests were made.

Officers responded to the home and approached the house with caution. They tried to make contact but got no response so they asked Kaser’s wife to come home. When she arrived, the police were able to go inside where they found David and their daughters, 19-year-old Clarissa and 14-year-old Crystal dead on the floor along with a handgun.

Police say they may have a solid motive for the murder-suicide and that the family is aware of it. However, authorities said they will not be revealing any further details of the motive to the public, The New York Post wrote.

The Kasers have six children together but the other four children were not at home at the time of the incident. David Kaser, who was also disabled and jobless, stayed at home and was in charge of taking care of their daughters, Tulsa World reported.

“He was upset with her and he was letting her know that,” Enzbrenner said.

Leslie Clingenpeela, a local resident who operates a domestic violence shelter in Sand Springs says the community is hurting after these past two weeks of tragedy.

She says she wishes these families could have sought help.

"We're burdened, we really wish that someone would have reached out to us, doesn't mean anything would have been different," said Leslie Clingenpeel.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the investigation.
