The day is almost coming! Last night, Nuestra Belleza Latina said goodbye to yet another beauty, rounding up the top four going to the final next week. This past gala was full of anticipation that had the five remaining girls: Aly, Josephine, Nabila, Alina and Aleyda, shaking before the possibility of becoming the next Latina beauty queen. It was a very exciting night, which also celebrated Mother’s Day by bringing the girls’ mothers to cheer them on. Each of the judges highlighted the models’ qualities and the improvement from day one at the competition.
Jomari Goyso was back once again, and he organized a mock press conference to interview the girls and see how well they do while surrounded by cameras. Paty Cantú brought the heat up with her performance that featured the girls dancing provocatively along Vadhir Derbez, Eugenio Derbez’s son and also an actor. This week’s challenge was to perform live with actor Gabriel Valenzuela. They had to “fight” for the love of a man. Once the challenge was over, Osmel invited the girls’ mothers to the stage to embrace their daughters. After the tender moment, Alicia Machado, the “Iron Godmother,” presented her song “La Incomprendida” while the girls were showcasing the haute-couture gowns of the evening.
And just like that it was already time to announce the first girl who was going to the final. Aly Villegas, the Mexican who auditioned in Chicago was the first lucky contestant to make it through. She was very surprised, and in tears, she said that she never even imagined making it past the audition process. Four girls remained not knowing if they were going to the finals or not but they had to give their best for the Colgate challenge. They had to accomplish different poses, always with a smile, and it was Josephine Ochoa who captivated the judges and won US $10,000. She was also the second girl to get the golden pass to next week’s gala.
Nabila Tapia was the third girl to get her golden pass. She shared with the audience a sweet story about her parents and opened up about her husband. Two girls remained at the time, Aly and Aleyda. But before knowing which one was going home, Henry Santos turned up the music with Maffio while singing at the bikini catwalk. The moment finally arrived to disclose which one of the girls was staying and who was going, and the decision shocked everyone. Osmel revealed that Alina was leaving the competition while Aleyda went on to the final, winning the last golden pass.
At the end of the gala, Jencarlos Canela performed his hit “Irreparable” and asked Alina to join him on stage to say a proper goodbye to her. Don’t forget to tune in next week, when we’ll finally know who will be crowned “Nuestra Belleza Latina.” Also, don’t miss special appearances by Yuri, Pepe Aguilar, Luis Fonsi and the past seven queens, along with many surprises more.
