'Nuestra Belleza Latina' 9th Season First Show Recap: Jlo Gets Crowned A Queen By Osmel!

“Nuestra Belleza Latina” kicked off it's 9th season and hosted by actress, model and Univision personality Chiqui Delgado and TV and radio host Javier Poza. Popular actress and TV personality Jacqueline Bracamontes joins the judges’ panel alongside renowned beauty mentor known as The Beauty Czar, Osmel Sousa, and beauty expert Jomari Goyso, who will each offer their expert advice to contestants. Reigning “Nuestra Belleza Latina” queen Aleyda Ortiz joins the show as the fully integrated host of digital network UVideos, with more behind-the-scenes, drama and candid off-camera reactions from the 12 finalists. This first gala had Jlo as a special guest in the beauty mansion. Jennifer Lopez talked about her latest movie 'The Boy Next Door' and gets a surprise by Osmel as he crowns her as a beauty queen and gives her a pass to sign to the beauty mansion. Every year there are new additions and surprises added to the show this year there is a new judge the 'Osmel TV' is a robotic system in which Osmel can see everything that happens in the audition room. This way he can eliminate or add contestants without even having them audition.

In this first show we saw the auditions from Chicago, Puerto Rico and Los Angeles. In the Chicago auditions there were three contestants who received a pass to the beauty mansion. Bridget Ruiz, 23 a public relations student from Mexico had a touching story of strength and determination. Her mother passed away from cancer and she says she is doing this for her and to maker proud. Now, Elsa Camacho with her magic trick earned a pass to the mansion. Osmel was determined not to give a pass to Elsa he broke her pass in many pieces and gave it to her. However, she did not give up and took the broken pieces of paper and witch another magic trick gave it back to him. Osmel was so surprised on how she did that he had no choice but to let her sign it and gave her the chance. In Puerto Rico, reggaeton artist Daddy Yankee joined the panel of judges at the auditions.The first contestant Catherine Roldan touched the hearts of the judges with her story of battling bulimia and anorexia. They considered her not only brave but also beautiful with a good physique she definitely earned her pass.

Do you remember Maribel Santiago? How can we forget she was a persistent woman who traveled to every state every year trying to earn a pass. Last year, they finally gave her the opportunity to shine in this popular reality show. She did not win and got eliminated but this year her sister Anayeli Santiago auditioned in Los Angeles determined to earn the crown that he sister forgot to take. When Osmel saw Anayeli he couldn't believe she was related to Maribel to the point he made her come back in swimsuit to ensure Marisel wasn't hiding under her body somewhere, like he said. When she came back she also did her performance which was a dance and showed she not only had the beauty but talent as well. Anayeli earned a pass to the beauty mansion. Next, Sunday we will have to wait and see what a very confident contestant in Los Angeles did that left nothing to the imagination of the judges and left them with their mouth opened.
