Spanish Director Jaume Collet-Serra is getting in on the action-thriller phenomenon that has become Liam Neeson action that is. Neeson, who seems to be developing a genre all unto itself (aka "the Neeson thriller") is starring in a new suspense thriller set on a plane called "Non-Stop." Starring alongside Julianne Moore, Neeson stars as an air marshall 40,000 up with a difficult dilemma. This will be Collet-Serra's second Neeson thriller, having teamed up with the Irish actor in 2011 for "Unknown." Here is the full plot description from the film's press release:
"Global action star Liam Neeson stars in "Non-Stop," a suspense thriller played out at 40,000 feet in the air. During a transatlantic flight from New York City to London, U.S. Air Marshal Bill Marks (Neeson) receives a series of cryptic text messages demanding that he instruct the airline to transfer $150 million into an off-shore account. Until he secures the money, a passenger on his flight will be killed every 20 minutes. The film reunites Neeson with Unknown director Jaume Collet-Serra and producer Joel Silver, and co-stars Golden Globe Award winner Julianne Moore."
In theatres February 28, "Non-Stop" will be the fifth in a series of a action thriller films starring Neeson which began with the 2008 hit "Taken." Meanwhile Jaume Collet-Serra will be best known to audiences for his work on horror films like "Orphan" (2009) and "House of Wax" (2005). Hailing from Barcelona, Spain, the Catalan director, 39-year-old director began his career directing TV commercials and music videos before breaking into Hollywood with "House of Wax."
