Mexican legend Juan Gabriel visited Caracas, Venezuela as part of his most recent tour, and paid a visit to President Nicolás Maduro. Juan Gabriel, along with a mariachi band, stopped by the Miraflores Palace where they were received by the president, his wife, Cilia Flores and other government supporters. The Mexican singer took the opportunity to remind everyone present that the next day was Maduro's birthday, and dedicated the famous "Las Mañanitas," a traditional Spanish birthday song, to the president. After the small birthday celebration was over, Juan Gabriel proceeded to perform some of his hits such as "Se Me Olvidó Otra Vez," and a traditional Venezuelan song, "Alma Llanera."
Maduro immediately thanked the singer. "Thank you for being here," he said, as he shook the hand of all the band members too. "Today has been a joyful day thanks to you," he added. "I want to thank in the name of the people of Venezuela, all of you for your visit, and Juan Gabriel's visit, who is someone very loved, very appreciated in Venezuela, as well as all the Mexican music." The president went on to highlight, "saying Mexico is the same as saying Venezuela. We're one town in the end. We're Latin America. With our songs, our feelings, always thinking of being united, so we thank you in the name of the whole family."
