He is an American rapper, entrepreneur, record producer, actor, screenwriter, comedian and radio and television personality. He is also a controversial figure and below are other things to know about him.
1. Debut and Career
He debuted when he was a teenager through “All That,” an American sketch comedy and weekly musical series. As his career expands, he hosted several shows including “The Nick Cannon Show,” “Wild ‘N Out” and even “America’s Got Talent.”
He is also an actor who appeared in several movies like “Roll Bounce,” “Love Don’t Cost a Thing,” “Drumline” and “Goal II: Living the Dream.” In 2003, Cannon debuted as a rapper with his self-titled album that included the hit track called “Gigolo.”
2. Marriage and Divorce
Nick Cannon got married only once to Mariah Carey. They tied the knot in April 2008 and their fraternal twins were born on their third wedding anniversary. However, the couple divorced after six years but the reason was not revealed. Their split was amicable and they are still friends.
He never got married again but he has another child with Brittany Bell, a model and beauty queen. Their relationship was not public and they are committed to co-parenting their son who will turn three in February.
3. Gay Rumors
Cannon was rumored to be gay after the actor who played Eddie in Disney’s “That’s So Raven” made allegations that Mariah’s ex is his lover. Orlando Brown made the wild claim when he uploaded a shocking Instagram post where he was telling the story of a time when Cannon supposedly gave him head while he was dressed in women’s clothes.
“Nick, I let you s**k my d**k,” Brown said in the video. “Fine, I said it.”
The rapper denied the allegations via a lengthy post on social media. He said that the video was meant to get attention and pointed out that Brown needs medical help for possible mental illness. He added that because of substance abuse and psychiatric disorders, “our loved ones are now aimlessly begging for the attention.”
“First off let me say I am praying for the young brother Orlando even though I don’t really know him personally,” Cannon wrote. “I indeed believe this brother has the God-given talent to be on ‘Wild ‘n Out’ but this definitely ain’t the way to audition, this actually hurts my heart to see that we have allowed Orlando to just dwindle away after these corporations made their billions off of them.”
4. Beef With Eminem
Finally, Nick Cannon has beef with superstar rapper Eminem and their rift goes way back to 2009. It started when the latter dissed Mariah Carey through the “Bagpipes from Baghdad” track and as the singer’s husband at that time, Cannon protected her and dissed Eminem back via two songs titled “Warning Remix” and “I’m a Slick Rick.”
In their recent spat, Cannon alleged that Eminem is gay and that’s a fact. He said that a sex videotape showing Eminem performing oral sex on another man actually exist and this was filmed by the 47-year-old’s chauffeur. He denied it by saying he did not even have a chauffeur to begin with. At any rate, Eminem is expected to react to the recent gay claims against Nick.

Nick Cannon has a net worth of $50 million and he earned this through his gigs that include, hosting, acting, music and others. This amount is over ten times higher than his former wife Mariah Carey who has a staggering $520 million.
