The 2013 Major League Baseball season has officially reached the home stretch and with multiple teams still in play for a postseason berth, the final 2 weeks of the season should produce some of the best baseball the game has seen all year. Teams including the New York Yankees, Tampa Bay Rays, Cleveland Indians and Pittsburgh Pirates continue to battle for playoff positioning while other clubs like the Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers can breathe a little easier knowing they'll have a place during the 'second season.'

Thanks to the existence of a tight race in the American League Wildcard standings, tensions are running high for multiple clubs as the season creeps closer to completion. The Texas Rangers currently hold the first of 2 Wildcard spots in the AL while the Tampa Bay Rays hold a slim lead for the second slot. Thanks to a win by the Yankees last night over the Baltimore Orioles and a Tampa loss to Boston, the Rays watched their Wildcard lead shrink to 1 game over the Yankees, 1.5 over the Orioles and Indians and just 2 over the surging Kansas City Royals.

Taking part in another crucial contest, the Yankees and Orioles will meet once again from Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland in a game that certainly has postseason implications. The Yankees will travel to Boston following their series against the O's and if they're able to pull out a victory and Boston takes down Tampa once more, the Bronx Bombers - through all the injuries and Alex Rodriguez headaches - could arrive at Fenway Park tied for the final Wildcard spot.
