Coming off a season in which they won 54 games and captured franchises first Atlantic Division Championship since the 1993-1994 campaign, the New York Knicks had high expectations heading into the 2013-2014 season. Led by defending scoring champion Carmelo Anthony, New York holds hope that a strong regular season leads to a deeper run in the postseason, since the Knicks fell to the Indiana Pacers in last year's Eastern Conference Semifinals after defeating the Boston Celtics a round earlier. After defeating the Milwaukee Bucks to start the current campaign however, New York has dropped two-straight and have not looked in sync, something Carmelo Anthony knows needs to change quickly even with plenty of time to get it done.

"I think we're out there second-guessing ourselves, and when you do that you're going to make mistakes," Anthony said following a recent home loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. "You see the difference when we're out there just playing and having fun late in the game. We're going with our gut, going with our instinct. It's night and day. It's frustrating, but we can correct that. You just can't come out on your home court and dig a hole. We've just got to figure it out. There's no need to panic. It's three games into the season."

Anthony's 22 points and 17 rebounds were not enough for the Knicks to get by the Timberwolves after a dreadful start. New York fell behind 40-19 heading into the second quarter and even though they were able to get to within two, Kevin Love and the Wolves were simply too strong. Love finished with a team-high 34 points on 10-of-19 shooting from the field to go along with 15 rebounds. Now set to battle a 1-2 Bobcats team coming off a 105-84 loss to New Orleans, the Knicks hope they're able to contain some of the premier talent their opponents possess, namely guard Ramon Sessions, who continues to earn high regard from his head coach.

"He's always ready, he's a good worker every day and he understands this league," Steve Clifford said of Sessions, who is averaging 15 points per game this season. "Now he's hoping his entire team can follow that example. We like to fight, we have an edge. Whenever things go poorly or really well, you're always looking to get the right response from the group. These guys were disappointed the other night and I think we'll come out Tuesday and play a good game."
