Last time the New York Giants met the Philadelphia Eagles, the Giants were winless and the Eagles' fortunes were teetering on the brink. This Sunday, October 27, when the two teams square off in Philadelphia, the Eagles will try to recover from a loss against their division rival Cowboys last week and save their season from the dustbin, while the Giants will try to pull the Eagles down with them. Their last meeting was also a bit of a fateful one for the Eagles, who at the time were entering it after dropping three straight games. Quarterback Michael Vick was in the midst of a scramble left when he injured his hamstring, a pesky injury which has stuck around and allowed backup Nick Foles to step in, have a few games stellar enough to ignite speculation about a quarterback controversy in the City of Brotherly Love, and end that hot streak unceremoniously against the Cowboys. Foles went 11-for-29 with just 80 yards and no touchdowns in Week 7, with a completion rate of only 37.9 percent and a 46.2 quarterback rating. He also suffered a concussion early in the fourth quarter after a hard sack. That means Matt Barkley, who stepped in in Foles' place last week, might get the start on Sunday.

The Giants' defense is probably preparing itself to face Vick, however. The Eagles' pass attack has fallen to 11th in the NFL with 260.3 yards per game, but if Vick is in good form, it'll still be a major threat, especially for a Giants pass defense which allows 254.9 yards per game (20th in the NFL). On the other hand, though, Giants QB Eli Manning will get the opportunity to slice up a defense which is in the basement of the NFL, with over 412 yards given up per game. And only the Broncos are worse at giving up yards through the pass attack than Philadelphia. Look for the Eagles' defense to basically ignore the Giants' running game, which is 31st in the NFL, in order to mount a respectable defense against Manning the Younger. If you're planning on catching the game on TV, just tune in to the NFL Network at 1 p.m. EST on Sunday, Oct. 25.
