At least 19 people have been shot during a Mother's Day Parade in New Orleans at 2 p.m., police said.
There were up to 400 attendees of the parade with 200 of them within close range of the shots.
Among the victims is a 10-year-old girl who was grazed with a bullet and sustained a wound on her side, CBS News reported. Three of the injured are reported to be in critical condition.
A few others were shot in the arms and legs, but no fatalities have been reported.
New Orleans Police Department Superintendant Ron Serpas told the New Orleans Times-Picayne that 10 officers were dispacted in the area and 3 people were seen fleeing from the scene.
Nine people were taken to area hospitals with 8 of them having sustained gunshot wounds.
No arrests have been made and police have no determined the motive behind the shooting, according to the Associated Press.
