Televisa just announced this week a new streaming service called Blim that will compete in Mexico and Latin America directly with Netflix. The new service will offer programming produced by the Mexican network like telenovelas and comedy shows. Netflix has a strong foothold of the market and content creators want a piece of that pie. Televisa already offers a lof of their productions to Netflix, but they want to take away market in Spanish-speaking countries and take control.
When the announcement was made official it didn't take long before the people of the Internet started making fun of the new straming service. Being a product launched by Televisa, it already had that negative stigma as Mexicans hate the Spanish-language network, due to their monopolistic nature. Most of the content we all remember is from this production company and people started making comparisons about what viewers will see on Blim versus Netflix. Instead of Dr. House they would get Dr. Candido Pérez and "Blim and chill" looks a lot different than "Netflix and chill." See the funny memes down below and tell us which one is your favorite!
