Neida Sandoval Breaks Silence Following 'Un Nuevo Dia' Telemundo Surprising Exit

Neida Sandoval was let go from Telemundo and the "Un Nuevo Día" morning show abruptly. Her last day on the daytime program was on Friday and the Honduran journalist was not able to say goodbye to the viewers that tuned in every day to watch the news. Sandoval has now taken to Facebook and posted a lengthy letter addressed to all of her followers that give everyone clarity as to what happened. "On Friday, May 6 after 9:30 in the morning and with no warning to me, the new President of News at the Telemundo informed me that the network would not renew my contract," she wrote. "I asked why they had taken that decision and the explanation was short, for 'reorganization.'"

"The announcement took me by surprise because I considered myself an important part of the team that has given credibility to Telemundo for the past years with ample live news coverage and instantly in the morning hours. I am proud of our excellent news coverage daily during 'Un Nuevo Día.' My rapid retirement as news presenter from 'Un Nuevo Día' and the network in general provoked in me was sickening. If I sinned in my nearly two years with the network, it was of my daily commitment in projecting viewers the happenings in a responsible manner."

Neida's letter continued: "Because I couldn't say goodbye on the show that was still live while I received the 'unpleasant news,' I decided to clear this recent event in my life with my own handwriting. I would also like to share that I am very grateful with my colleagues, friends and co-workers at the Telemundo network who showed me a lot of respect since the day I got to the network. Amidst hugs I said farewell to the Telemundo network, last Friday, that opened their arms cordially a couple years ago and that has now decided to say goodbye to me without much explanation."

Following Neida Sandoval's exit from Telemundo and the breakfast show the network issued a statement that read: "Neida Sandoval is no longer working with us. We appreciate her numerous contributions to Telemundo and wish her all the best in her future professional endeavors." Neida Sandoval joined "Un Nuevo Dia" and Telemundo in June 2014.
