Neida Sandoval is reportedly out as news anchor of "Un Nuevo Día." The Honduran journalist will no longer be on the morning show according to MediaMoves sources. Insiders revealed that Telemundo opted not to renew Sandoval's contract and she was made aware of that decision today. News of her faith surprised members of the breakfast program as well as Neida. She sadly was not able say farewell to viewers and there's no word on who would replace the veteran anchor. "Un Nuevo Día" is currently presented by Ana María Canseco, Rashel Diaz, Diego Schoening, Adamari Lopez and Daniel Sarcos.
UPDATE: Telemundo has confirmed Neida Sandoval's exit from "Un Nuevo Día" and released the following statement: "Neida Sandoval is no longer working with us. We appreciate her numerous contributions to Telemundo and wish her all the best in her future professional endeavors."
Neida joined the "Un Nuevo Día" show in June 2014 as news presenter after doing the same thing on rival program "Despierta América." "It was a warm welcome, very beautiful," she told People En Español magazine after being presented at Telemundo. At the time of her integration she met with former co-host Ana María Canseco. "We are like sisters," she said of the reunion with Canseco. "There's a beautiful friendship between Ana María and I. We know each other's families, our dislikes and what makes us happy. We have celebrated for many years success and we have cried together many difficult times that we've gone through. This reunion comes when we are in a different stage of life and will be enriching to both of us."
UPDATE: Neida Sandoval Allegedly Fired From Telemundo For Being Jealous Of María Celeste Arrarás
Neida Sandoval was the last remaining personality from the original "Despierta América" team. In June 2011 she left the show abruptly. "The new administration did not want me in the mornings," she said in an interview. "I found out that they were making changes with my positions months before I had left. I already knew the names of the colleagues that were going to replace me through other colleagues from other departments." Executives at Univision wanted to relocate Sandoval to California, but she refused to make the cross-country move and opted to leave the network. "I felt that it was a a quick exit as if I had done something wrong," she sad. "The only thing that I did at Univision was work with loyalty, with love and with firmness when it was needed."
