Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher Zach Davies' estranged wife detailed the apparent dissolution of their marriage in an Instagram post on Monday.
In the Instagram post, Megan Davies explained how their marriage started to crumble. She stated that the Arizona Diamondbacks starter “cut off all communication” and later “blocked” her.
She started her post by saying that in 2021, her world as she knew it "completely fell apart." Her husband cut off all communication from her while she was "back home in Arizona and he was in another state." She claimed that he sent a text message to her at 6 a.m. and then blocked her. She alleged that she had to “file for divorce without even having a single conversation with the person (she) built a life with."
Megan also claimed that he had been unfaithful. She said that he took the easy way out, where "he doesn’t have to be held accountable for his actions." She noted that her husband has "luxury of pretending our life never existed. He has chosen to say silent. He has chosen to not give me a single ounce of closure."
As for Megan, she had to live through the immense pain and hurt he caused, and she couldn’t hide from it unlike him. She wrote, "I had to live through the reality of it all." She felt “ashamed to tell (her) story” for some time, but she revealed Monday that she was signing her divorce papers as she moves on to her next chapter by “claiming (her) power back.”
Davies and Megan got married on Dec. 3, 2016, reported New York Post. She said that she was signing divorce papers from "someone who hasn’t spoken a word to me to this day." She shared that it feels surreal but she knows that "his road will catch up to him eventually." As for her, she knows that she will be more than okay because of the mountain I had to climb to get me "where I am at now."
Netizens immediately trashed Davies after the post went viral, reported Sideaction. One found the baseball player ghosting his own wife for a year "so f***ing unhinged." Another called Davies "a piece of garbage."
As of Wednesday, Davies doesn’t seem to have addressed Megan’s message. The pitcher, 29, hasn’t posted on Instagram or Twitter since September 2020.
