A missing "Set For Life" lottery winner, who won the draw a month ago, has finally claimed his $4.8 million jackpot prize, saying that he had “manifested” the win for years.
The lottery winner, a New South Wales resident, reportedly came forward on Thursday, Nov. 4, to claim his $4.8 million jackpot that was drawn on Oct. 9. The winner will be paid $20,000 every month for the next 20 years. The lucky numbers of the draw were 44, 32, 6, 36, 39, 2, and 10, and the supplementary numbers were 20 and 14, according to The Australian.
Since his lottery entry was unregistered, lottery officials were not able to contact the winner and had to wait until the winner came forward himself.
“I checked the ticket over and over again because I wanted to make sure it was true," the winner said.
“It’s funny, because on the day I bought this ticket, I just had this overwhelming feeling that I was going to win division one. I am so glad I bought this ticket because I really did win,” the winner added.
The fortunate bettor said that he had manifested winning the lottery for many years and had even written a list of all his wishes that he would do if he won the lottery, Nine News reported.
“The first thing I planned to do was look after my family. We are going to live a really luxurious lifestyle. Then I want to donate to a number of charities that are close to my heart. I always said if I did win, that I would need to give back. I already know exactly which charities I am donating to," the winner said.
The winner bought his winning lottery ticket at Nina’s IGA supermarket in Hamilton. The store manager Eleni Kiriakidis said that she was glad to hear that the winner had finally come forward.
“Hopefully we have another big win here soon,” she said.
There have been 393 division one lottery winners so far in 2021. Out of these 393 winners, 119 people are from New South Wales.
Ally Ramsamy, the lottery spokesperson said that she hoped the winner came forward sooner.
Meanwhile, there has been 13 division one lottery winners this year in the Hunter and Central Coast region with collectively over $19.4 million in prizes.
