Fans of Bad Bunny and Adam Sandler's comedy are celebrating as the first images of the singer in the highly anticipated sequel to the hit 90s movie 'Happy Gilmore' have been leaked.
Sandler returns to the golf course almost three decades later, reprising his iconic role. While details about the plot remain under wraps, several characters from the original 1996 film will be returning.
Julie Bowen will reprise her role as the PR manager, and Christopher McDonald will return as Shooter McGavin, Gilmore's arch-nemesis. Bad Bunny was recently spotted on set dressed as a caddie.
His look featured a mini afro, a white long-sleeve shirt, black pants, and a red apron.
Sandler, meanwhile, was seen in his classic 'Happy Gilmore' style, sporting a Boston Bruins hockey jersey, loose pants, and his signature Timberland boots.
The images suggested scenes were being filmed for the Golf Tour Championship, a central event in the upcoming movie, which is set to premiere on Netflix.
Netflix announced the start of production in September but kept details about the plot and release date under wraps, teasing a potential 2025 release. "'Happy Gilmore.' It ain't over. The way I see it... we've only just begun," Sandler said on Instagram.
The original 'Happy Gilmore,' co-written by Sandler, followed a would-be hockey player who discovers his hidden talent for golf with a powerful, unconventional swing.
Bad Bunny's rising acting career
Bad Bunny's role in 'Happy Gilmore 2' is another step forward in his blossoming acting career. The Puerto Rican artist debuted as an actor in 2022, portraying Everardo Arturo "Kitty" Páez in the TV series 'Narcos: Mexico.' That same year, he made his film debut alongside Brad Pitt in 'Bullet Train'. In 2023, he starred in 'Cassandro,' and now he's back on screen with Adam Sandler in 'Happy Gilmore 2.'
Bad Bunny was also spotted on set in New York in October filming a new movie titled 'Caught Stealing,' donning a chic autumn look.
