Nia Sanchez is Miss USA 2014! The beauty queen that was representing the state of Nevada was handed over the crown by outgoing reigning queen Erin Brady. Sanchez is now the winner and beat out girls representing North Dakota, Georgie, Louisiana, Florida and Iowa. Here are 5 things to know about Nia Sanchez, Miss USA! 1. Was born and raised in Sacramento until the age of 7. 2. After high school, she moved to Europe to be a nanny. 3. Nia is half Hispanic, which is why she loved having the opportunity to travel to Mexico while on mission trips! 4. Nia has worked as a full time model for the past 7 years and was chosen out of thousands of applicants to be a face character for Hong Kong Disney! 5. After visiting Thailand and the Great Wall Of China, Nia made the bright lights of Las Vegas her home!

Baton Rouge was sizzling with the 51 beauty queens taking over the stage in hopes of becoming Miss USA 2014! The bayou saw the most beautiful women in the country, representing each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia, competing and being judged in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview. The 63rd Annual competition was held at the Baton Rouge River Center in Louisiana and hosted by "Fashion Police's" Giuliana Rancic and Thomas Roberts from MSNBC's "Way Too Early," morning show. Musical guests for the evening included Mexican pop-rock band Camila, Florida Georgia Line and special guest Nelly, Marc Broussardand The Dirty Dozen Brass Bands.
Outgoing reigning queen, Erin Brady, crowned her successor at the end of the three hour telecast. The roster of celebrities and experts that judged the competition were: Karl Malone, Ian Ziering, Lance Bass, Rumer Willis,Allie LaForce, Dolvett Quince, Bárbara Palacios, Randy Couture and Melissa Peterman. Nia was one of 6 women that represented our Latino roots which included Kendall Bautista (Miss Alaska), Desirée Pérez (Miss Conneticut),Amanda Soltero (Miss Nebraska), Olivia Olvera (Miss North Carolina) and Lauren Guzmán (Miss Texas).
