Las Vegas will be the city hosting the Miss Universe 2015 beauty pageant and it has gotten a makeover. After the whole Donald Trump fiasco earlier this year and both Univision and NBC cutting ties with the Miss Universe Organization, it was forced to find a new home. Now the event will be aired on the FOX network, this after Trump also sold his stake as he pursues the U.S. presidency. Miss Colombia, Paulina Vega, was only crowned in January of this year and she will be handing over her reign to a new beauty at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casno on Sunday, December 20.
“Miss Universe is a unique, global media property and this partnership with FOX marks a new era for The Miss Universe Organization as a whole,” said Michael Antinoro, SVP of Original Content, IMG. “As the broadcast leader in innovative and groundbreaking live events, FOX is the perfect partner as we look to implement new and exciting changes to this show and the franchise.” David Madden, President, Entertainment, FOX Broadcasting Company also weighed in saying, "The Miss Universe and Miss USA pageants are iconic television events loved by generations of viewers around the world. We are very excited to partner with IMG and The Miss Universe Organization to infuse a fresh new energy into these perennial broadcast favorites."
Miss Universe 2015 will take place at the AXIS Theater inside the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. There, beauties from across the globe will gather and compete to be the next titleholder. The event is expected to air in about 190 countries and territories with everyone at the edge of their seats to see how far their favorite contestants go. LatinTimes will have coverage of all the women competing all this week and make sure to check back the day of the event for live updates.
