The Mexican entertainment world is in shock over the unexpected death of Verónica Cantú, the former Monterrey television host and renowned radio announcer.

Cantú passed away on December 28 at the age of 46, leaving behind her husband, Ricardo Alvarado, and their two children.

"Today, a star shines high in the sky. That star is you, the love of my life," lamented Alvarado.

Her brother, Ricardo Cantú, also shared the family's sorrow: "With deep sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the loss of the most valuable member of our family. Daughter, sister, mother—Vero Cantú, Princess Cantú," he expressed.

Following the news, Vero's friends and followers shared their condolences, including influencer Bikina Vázquez, who paid tribute with a heartfelt video on TikTok.

"Dear Vero Cantú, I love you so much. I will always remember you. Jesus welcomed you with open arms," she said.

Local radio host Gilberto Martínez, known as "La Parka," also mourned Cantú's passing and reminisced about their time together filming for Teleritmo.

Cantú's career began on Channel 53 at the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL). She later joined Grupo Multimedios and became a key figure on Teleritmo, appearing on shows like 'Pídela Bailando' and 'Las 10 de Teleritmo.'

She also led 'La más buena 105.3,' leaving an unforgettable mark in Mexican broadcasting.

Verónica Cantú's Final Farewell

Eight weeks ago, Cantú—who also worked as a university professor at UANL's School of Accounting and Administration—shared a vacation photo with the caption, "Bonaire, beautiful island," marking her last Instagram post. Prior to that, she posted about her children, husband, and daily work.

Cantú's funeral services took place on Sunday, December 29, at the Capilla del Carmen in Monterrey. A memorial mass was also held at the same location.
