Hot off the initial reveal of the Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake, a new video ahead of the 2012 Paris Auto Show in September gives an early peek at the upcoming CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake.
Possessing the same evocative lines as the 4-door coupe, the Shooting Brake flaunts a longer and exceptionally executed tapering greenhouse. While Mercedes-Benz has yet to officially confirm the AMG trimmed Shooting Brake, we've grown quite familiar with Mercedes' hot-rod engines. Power is expected to come from a 5.5 liter bi-turbo V8 producing 530 hp and 590 lb.-ft. of torque. The robust seven-speed MCT gearbox by AMG will serve to channel all that power to the rear wheels, expected to catapult the Teutonic muscle-wagon from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in the mid-4 second range.
Carrying over the electrical gizmos from the CLS AMG four-door coupe, the Shooting Brake should come complete with the AMG Ride Control sports suspension package, providing the driver with three suspension options "Comfort," "Sport," and "Sport plus."
As usual, AMG's flared bodywork highlights the added power. However, in the case of the Shooting Brake, AMG designers have shown an added measure of restraint. Quad exhaust pipes, a set of 19-inch wheels, subtly re-shaped front fenders with LED daytime light strips, stylized side-skirts, and a tasteful roof spoiler gives the CLS AMG Shooting Brake even more presence on the road.
As the CLS Shooting Brake has no intentions of U.S. distribution, don't expect the Shooting Brake AMG to arrive either.
