Mercedes-Benz has revealed its official Super Bowl commercial on its YouTube channel earlier today and we're happy to say it's a heck of a lot better than the silly "Kate Upton Washes the All-New Mercedes-Benz CLA in Slow Motion" teaser the automaker released last week.
It is believed that a vehicle can strongly reflect the personality of the driver behind the wheel. Apparently, this is not the case with the all-new 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA four-door coupe.
A man sitting in a diner looks out the window and notices a new billboard for the 2014 CLA is being posted. Suddenly, Willem Dafoe and his trademark thin-lipped smile appears before the man and offers him a deal -- the Mercedes-Benz and all the fame and fortune its ownership entails at a price (we assume its his soul).
In a flash, the man envisions himself powersliding into a red carpet ceremony, taking pictures alongside the gorgeous model Kate Upton, dancing with R&B singer Usher, finding his face on the covers of magazines for Man of the Year, getting chased by a swarm of fans, and leading a race on an oval with a CLA that's apparently capable of warp speed.
The kicker? the billboard finally reveals that the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA will start at a price of just $29,900. Barely any more expensive than a well equipped Scion FR-S, even a young college graduate that eats at a diner all alone can afford it.
As its price suggests, the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA is slated to take on the likes of the Acura ILX, Audi A3, and BMW 1 Series. The CLA will feature a standard turbocharged 2.0 liter-four cylinder enginethat produces 210-hp.
Well casted and well paced, the Mercedes-Benz commerical stands to be the most memorable 2014 Super Bowl ad yet.
