In The Mentalist Season 6, Episode 5 ("The Red Tattoo"), Patrick Jane learned that Red John is tattoed with three red dots on his shoulder. Will he finally learn the identity of the killer tonight?

Two out of seven Red John suspects are dead. We watched how Bob Kirkland (Kevin Corrigan) died but there is still the chance that Bret Partridge could be alive. In the sneak preview, Jane is seen in a room with the remaining Red John suspects. The five remaining Red John suspects are the following: CBI Director Gale Bertram (Michael Gaston), FBI Agent Reede Smith (Drew Powell), Napa County Sheriff Thomas McAllister (Xander Berkeley), Visualize leader Bret Stiles (Malcolm McDowell), and former CBI supervising detective Ray Haffner (Reed Diamond).

Meanwhile, the phrase 'Tiger, Tiger' has taken on some increaded importance. As writer Eoghan Mahonery revealed to TV Guide. "Certainly we've heard Red John say 'Tiger Tiger' to Jane personally. But again, is that Red John just screwing with Jane? Is that giving him clues that are helpful, because why would he do that? Or is it giving him clues that are going to lead Jane into traps?" Series creator Bruno Heller revealed that "the CBI goes through its own sort of institutional crisis. The walls are crumbling around them as they are trying to solve this big final mystery. Bertram is both a prime suspect as Red John, but also deeply involved in that other plot."
