"The Mentalist" Season 6 Episode 12 ("The Golden Hammer") airs Sunday, January 12 on CBS at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT. The CBS preview reveals: "When a high-tech map maker is murdered, Jane and the FBI investigate the possibility that he may have unearthed a spy ring before he was killed. Elsewhere, Rigsby and Van Pelt are caught up in a disturbing conspiracy."
Mentalist fans hoping for a Jane-Lisbon romance may be disappointed, however. It seems that Lisbon (Robin Turney) is getting a boyfriend: Set to debut in episode 16, FBI Agent Marcus Pike is "a charming man with integrity, a blue collar cop with FBI smarts," according to TV Line. With only five episodes left after episode 16, it looks like the Mentalist Season 6 might not end in the Lisbon/Jane romance that many were hoping for. It looks like Lisbon's new love is here to stay - at least for this season.
As series creator Bruno Heller reveals, Lisbon needs to find love outside of her friendship with Jane. "In order for her to fulfill herself - even if she eventually fulfills herself with Jane, which she may or may not do - she has to find other relationships, other perspectives, other people who love her, just to feel fully who she is," Heller said, according to Entertainment Weekly. "It's very important for her to be able to step away from Jane and see herself for herself."
