Donald Trump’s former senior counselor Kellyanne Conway had a lot to say about Melania Trump in her new book.

In her recently released book, "Here’s The Deal: A Memoir," she said that the former First Lady really supported her during a “difficult” time, reported She Finds. Melania was reportedly quick to defend her when the former U.S. President Donald Trump was getting annoyed with her husband, George Conway, and his constant anti-Trump tweets.

Kellyanne wrote about the toll her husband’s public criticism of Trump, who was her boss, had on their marriage. She recalled one particular moment where she overheard a conversation between Trump and his wife. In reference to her husband, Trump reportedly told Melania, “This guy is nasty. He won’t stop." Trump reportedly said that Kellyanne was his "top person. She knows a lot, too! What are we going to do?” At the time, Trump looked "perturbed." He was sitting in the White House dining room with his back to the windows and "a jar of Starbursts and a muted TV in front of him," Kellyanne wrote, according to Business Insider.

She quoted the former First Lady's "calm" response. Melania reportedly said, "Donald, this is not her fault." She apparently called Kellyanne a "big girl," and someone who was "strong and confident.'" According to Kellyanne, Melania also said, "'We don't control our husbands, and you don't control us'!"

She wrote that she felt "awkward and embarrassed" that they "had to spend even a minute on this." Yet she felt "relieved and protected from what was becoming an armful of harmful."

She also wrote in her book about her frustrations with George, and his increasingly hostile views of Trump and his administration. She accused her husband of "cheating by tweeting." She lamented having to choose between the two men in her life. She wrote in the book's afterword that she and her husband "may not survive." She added that apparently she can't "compete with the tweet or ninety thousand of them."

As for Melania, when she was the First Lady, she chose to focus much of her efforts on "Be Best," an anti-cyberbullying initiative. Many people pointed out the odd juxtaposition of Melania speaking out on the topic while Trump took delight in attacking people on Twitter.

Meanwhile, despite declining requests for an interview, Trump would later accuse the media of dishonest reporting via Twitter after the press published articles on the issue. Ultimately, she claimed that paperwork for the charity registration was ongoing. Alex Edelman/Getty Images
