Ivanka Trump suggested couples therapy to Kellyanne Conway and George Conway to help their marriage following George’s public announcement of condemnation to Kellyanne’s boss, former President Donald Trump.
Kellyanne, Donald’s final campaign manager in the 2016 election, published her new book on Tuesday, titled "Here's the Deal: A Memoir." She included details about her husband's habit of criticizing her boss on Twitter and how it took a toll on their marriage. She also shared anecdotes about seeking support from other women working in the White House.
The author talked about the former senior advisor Ivanka, she shared their cordial relationship in the White House and how Ivanka offered to listen to any matters and concerns. "Ivanka came into my office [which was next to hers] and handed me a Post-it note. It had the names of two local doctors who specialized in couples therapy." Ivanka explained that she understood what Kellyanne was going through. "After I showed George the names, he rejected one and said a halfhearted ‘okay’ to the other while looking at his phone. We never went."
George, an American lawyer and political activist, often expressed his contempt for the former president through social media and in newspaper op-eds. "Don't assume that the things he says and does are part of a rational plan or strategy, because they seldom are," George wrote about Donald in 2019. "Consider them as a product of his pathologies, and they make perfect sense."
It was followed by a response from the ex-president, "George Conway, often referred to as Mr. Kellyanne Conway by those who know him, is VERY jealous of his wife's success & angry that I, with her help, didn't give him the job he so desperately wanted," Trump wrote on Twitter in 2019. "I barely know him."
Meanwhile, Kellyanne preferred to not be involved in the feud between her husband and her boss. In a 2019 interview, she addressed it on CNN. "It's fascinating to me that CNN would go there," she said, "but it's very good for the whole world to have just witnessed that it's now fair game how people's spouses and significant others may differ with them." Despite all the headlines, Kellyanne and George, fortunately, remain married after all this.
