Melania Trump’s new drug abuse video is drawing criticism for looking like a perfume ad. The video, which was made for the National Substance Use Prevention Month, also rang hollow to many as it was released less than 48 hours after Donald Trump had mocked Joe Biden’s son for his addiction.

Melania Trump expressed in the pre-recorded video her commitment to preventing substance abuse, highlighting her husband’s efforts to stop drug abuse in the U.S. “In my time as First Lady, I have worked to raise awareness about the risks and dangers of drug use among our youth through my ‘Be Best’ initiative,” she said in the video.

“It is important that we support our next generation and teach them about the dangers of drug use,” she added.

White House director of drug control policy Jim Carroll also appeared in the video praising Trump’s commitment to putting an end to the drug epidemic in the country. “As President Trump’s principal adviser on drug policy, I have seen firsthand how dedicated our country’s first family is to substance use prevention, in our communities, our families, and especially among our children,” he added.

The video was quick to draw criticism, with critics saying that Melania seemed oblivious to the way Trump’s Tuesday rhetoric contradicts her message of kindness and compassion in the video. Some also criticized the ad for looking like a perfume commercial, with one Twitter user saying, “This is a life and death issue. Maybe talk to your husband about substance abuse or talk to our next POTUS, @JoeBiden about how his son courageously fought it.”

On Tuesday, Donald Trump took a swipe at Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, claiming he had been “dishonorably discharged” from the military because of cocaine use. Previously, the Wall Street Journal revealed that Hunted had been released from the U.S. Navy on an administrative discharge—not dishonorable discharge.

Joe Biden also defended his son from Donald Trump, saying he had already overcome his abuse of drugs. “My son, like a lot of people you know at home, had a drug problem,” he said. “He’s overtaken it. He’s fixed it. He’s worked on it, and I’m proud of him.”
