Amidst rumors of their marriage being on the rocks, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have made it known that they plan to spend a major chunk of the year in the US for a much-needed break from work and get some quality family time. These plans of the royal couple have triggered yet another rumor: that Meghan and Harry are planning to shift to the US permanently.

The couple shared their upcoming plans in the recently released documentary Meghan and Harry: An African Journey, where Meghan shared how she's been struggling with all the negative press and where Harry acknowledged that he is on a "different path" than his brother, William (Duke of Cambridge) saying that they have their good days and bad days.

The documentary itself was quite controversial leading to several royal insiders and experts disclosing that the royal family were everywhere from concerned to furious over the family's "dirty laundry" being aired out in public.

Even worse, an anonymous advisor of the couple added fuel to the fire by saying that the “British royal family is full of people afraid of and inexperienced at how to best help harness and deploy the value of the royal couple.” They then went on to say that Meghan and Harry should be given more credit for “single-handedly modernizing the monarchy.”

While previously the Sussexes were considering South Africa as an option to set up a second base, it is now rumored that their upcoming trip to California will be a means for them to look around the neighborhood, to go house hunting, and more. Settling in Los Angeles is a no-brainer for Markle as that is where her mother, Doria Ragland, currently lives.

However, a couple of things holding the couple back from making the big leap is the security costs which may cost British taxpayers a lot of money and Archie's upbringing, considering that he still is a royal and is in line to be King - no matter how far fetched the idea of that happening may be.
