Two new characters have been revealed for the second half of “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” When the show returns to ABC this in February Deathlok and Lorelei will be coming too! Anyone who has kept up with the show knows that J. August Richards character Mike Peterson lost his leg and gained the high-tech eye which of course is Deathlok’s signature look. And if that isn’t enough executive producer of “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D” Jeph Loeb confirmed to reporters on the set of the series that Mike Peterson would indeed become Deathlok. It has also been confirmed that Deathlok will make his first appearance on the series during the mid-season premiere Feb. 4.
"There's an awful lot of enhancements that he'll have. His speed, his strength and he's well-known for his cybernetic eye," Loeb said, noting that the S.H.I.E.L.D. writers have been planning Mike Peterson’s transformation from the beginning of the series. "We first introduced the idea of the eye in episode 4, so if you've been watching along the way, we've been leaving breadcrumbs for you to follow.” When “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D” returns Tuesday Feb. 4 fans will get to see the first appearance of Deathlok.
Previous reports also mention that the series will be seeing another character. It has been reported that Thor’s Lady Sif played by Jaimie Alexander will show up in upcoming episodes of “Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D” and now it appears we know why. TV guide reports Loeb gives the reason Jaimie Alexander will join the cast to, “hunt down another Marvel character.” Loeb also said of Lorelei (Elena Satine, who played Mera on Smallville), "She's a beautiful redhead who has the ability to sway men's minds. She has this in her own unique way of speaking.”
