Although for many Latinos "Chapulin Colorado" is the authentic Latin superhero, Marvel's iconic comic book publisher Stan Lee, announced at the largest comic convention in Latin America, that he will launch a new Latin superhero by the end of the year.
The creator of "Spiderman" and "Iron Man", whose original name is Stanley Martin Lieber, revealed the news to thousands of fans in Querétaro, central Mexico. “I wanted this to be a surprise, but I’m personally working on a Latino hero, that you’ll be seeing at the end of the year,” he said. “I want to make him as good as I can, as different as I can.” he explained.
There’s no information available about Lee’s collaborating with someone who is Latino, but recently Marvel Entertainment collaborated with the singer Romeo Santos, for the creation of the suit that the bachatero used to launch his single "Heroe Favorito."
According to AFP, fans from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Venezuela and even as far away as Belgium, went to the convention to meet the 94-year-old artist."This city, in this country, has the greatest fans in the whole world! You people are spectacular. This convention is wonderful," he said.
The American comic-book writer, editor and publisher, is the creator of the Fantastic Four, Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, the X-Men, Daredevil, Doctor Strange and Marvel's most successful character, Spider-Man, and many other fictional characters.
The Deadline reported that Lee's media and entertainment company POW! Entertainment, entered into an agreement with China’s Camsing International Holding, an investment holding company that provides electronics manufacturing services, to create “another ‘Marvel’ in the Asian market.”
The company has worked with Disney, Hasbro, Warner Brothers, NBA and many others.
