Marjorie Taylor Greene: "Wait what country are you from?"
"From the UK"
"OK we don't give a crap about your opinion and your reporting. Why don't you go back to your country. We have a major migrant problem. You should care about your own borders" pic.twitter.com/l1lYrYdEbH
Sky News correspondent Martha Kelner was questioning Green, who interrupted upon hearing an accent and demanded to know her nationality. Upon learning she was from the UK, Greene dismissed Kelner's line of questioning.
"We don't give a crap about your opinion and your reporting. Why don't you go back to your country where you have a major migrant problem?" Greene snapped, cutting off Kelner before she could finish her question. "You should care about your own borders."
When Kelner attempted to press further, asking if Greene cared about American service members, the congresswoman shut her down. "Okay, you're done," she said.
When an American reporter attempted to ask the same question, Greene responded by attacking the Biden administration, claiming its border policies posed a greater national security risk than the Signal chat leak revealing military operations.
"That's what this is about today, not journalists from the UK that should care about their own country," she added before walking away.
The tense confrontation, which unfolded on the same day Greene railed against NPR and PBS during a House hearing, has sparked backlash, with critics calling her remarks "nasty," needlessly hostile, and "a great embarrassment" to the United States.
