Nintendo President Satoru Iwata revealed at the company's financial results meeting that a "Mario Kart" TV web app that will allow "Mario Kart 8" players to share game rankings and video clips on their smartphones and tablets is coming soon.

Analyst David Gibson tweeted out the news that the app would release by the "end of the fiscal year" while at Nintendo's financial results meeting. The tweet reads:

"First smart device app will by end of fiscal year with first called Mario Kart TV enabling sharing of game movie and rankings"

Early this year at the company's financial results meeting back in January, Nintendo stressed that while we won't see its games on any smart-devices, it does want to have a mobile presence.

As of right now it is uncertain if this is a dedicated app or web-based service. There's also no news as to when or if it will be implemented outside of Japan. There were pictures released of what the app will look like. Check them out below.
